Aperature of sinus: Many people get sinus infections due to allergies. However, chronic rhinosinusitis is often caused by the inability of the sinus to properly drain. This leads to infections. If the sinus is unable to drain properly, then bacteria is unable to escape the confines of the sinus. A procedure commonly performed to aid in sinus draining is to widen the ostium (drainage hole) in the sinus. Keep smiling !
