Ok: If you are using the steamer just for 15 minutes 2 to 3 x daily, you may be able to reduce the risk for sinusitis (not scientifically proven however). If you use the steamer continuously especially in the bedroom, it may encourage mold and dust mite growth. If you choose to use a humidifier, make sure the relative humidity does not exceed 50% and the container gets cleaned to prevent mold growth

Yes: Yes there is some benefit. Also hot water is helpful like hot shower water over the face
