No constipation: Not aware that calcium pills make you constipated at all. But may try liquid form if having trouble.

Different types: Food sources are best: low fat dairy, tofu, dark green leafy veg, canned sardines and salmon with bones. Fortified on, soy milk etc are ok. Any ca supplement can cause constipation. Citrate less than carbonate. Taking magnesium with calcium doesn't increase absorption, but is a laxative and can counteract ca induced constipation. Drink lots of fluids, take ca in split doses.
