No.: Catheters are typically required for only short periods of time after prostate cancer treatments, whether it be some form of surgery or of radiation. Some men have large obstructing prostate glands which, when found to contain some cancer, must be taken into consideration when planning treatment for the cancer. Four months is not typical.
