Smaller, customized: New behind-the-ears hearing aids are popular and easy to use. For a child, a consideration is how likely the child is to damage or lose a hearing aid, and how well the child can put it on, take it off, and use the features. The behind-the-ear portion is small now, and comes in various colors. Some have several frequencies to adjust like an mp3 or stereo. Some have bluetooth to connect a cellphone.
