Infection has to be : The first thing you thinking when there's sudden pain and swelling days after a cut or open injury. The bone at the fingertip is just below the nail so it's very important that if there is an infection it be treated right away. Soaking in hydrogen peroxide is something that can be done immediately but they an x-ray and the prescription for antibiotics are generally needed too at minimum.
