Hand surgeon: Assuming there is no recent Injury ,the symptoms are consistent with an impingement of a nerve at the wrist level. Swelling of the finger is not typical of this. A hand surgeon is best qualified to evaluate, advise and treat you. Testing may Involve an X-Ray and/or an emg study.
