Could : Glaucoma risk is higher with positive family history. If the mom has an aggressive type then it may or may not be the same for the daughter. Its very important to follow up with an eye doc on a regular base, and stay compliance with medication. Its also important to eat well(fruit and veg), meditate, yoga, blood pressure control and make sure to have a good oxygenation. Avoid head down yoga.

Maybe: Heredity is definitely a risk factor for glaucoma. As there are several types of glaucoma, the only way to protect yourself is to have regular exams by an eye doctor. Also try to find out more details about what type of glaucoma your mother has and tell your eye doctor.
