Mother diagnosed w/glaucoma 2 yrs. ago. drops & laser have not controlled. daughter recently diagnosed. am i more likely to have lack of control too?

Family history: Family history is a risk factor for glaucoma. I assume that you are the "daughter" as described. You have a greater risk of difficulty with control, but this is hardly a certainty. In any case, your doctor should try medications prior to suggesting any laser or surgery, if indeed you have open angle glaucoma.

Not necessarily: Although glaucoma can be hereditary it is unlikely the it will behave the same in different related individuals.
