Mother losing vision to glaucoma. daughter 58 recently diagnosed. mom's dr. says i may have same type resistant to meds. worried i will go blind too?

Don't worry: Glaucoma can be controlled and the progression halted in most people. Your disease course will not be the same as a relative's, even a close one. Follow your ophthalmologist's advise and you will be okay.

Blindness: Is not likely except when the disease is diagnosed at end stage, or patient is lost to followup, or disease severely refractory to treatment.
