is it normal to get a headache after receiving novacane at the dentist?

It's possible: Don't forget, you also had some dental work done, and the Epinephrine that was in the injection may have affected you slightly. This is usually transient so you should be feeling better very shortly.

Not normal: I have been told that this has happened to some of my patients in the past. I do not think it is normal. I also do not know the cause of it. I do not believe that it is an allergy to the medication. It is however, an unpleasant side effect.
