See your physician: I suggest you ask your surgeon. He is going to be able to give you the best answer. However, it is not uncommon to have continued nerve pain after foraminotomy. It usually lasts days to weeks. As long as you don't develop new symptoms such as weakness, increasing numbness or new pain, the problem should resolve on its own without need for further surgery.

Nerve regeneration: Not unusual to have these sensations after decompression.Once the nerve starts healing you can get all the sensations like hot , cold, shooting, burning etc. If it is really bad Gabapentin can help.You should talk to your surgeon.0.
