Negative MRI does not rule out a CNS disease which can cause those symptoms. A complete medical history and some basic blood and serology tests are also required. Please follow closely with a neurologist.

The mri may have been negative, but what does the neurologist feel is the differential diagnosis and what other testing is proposed? I'd be thinking of possible deficiencies of calcium, magnesium, electrolyte imbalance, and possibly doing EMG, &/or examination of spinal fluid. A neurologist with a specialty in neuromuscular disorders may be worthwhile consulting at a university hospital near you
