Can i stop wellbutrin (bupropion) cold turkey been on it for 3 months- i hate it. also how does using metamucil help weight gain? doc says my small intestines move way too quick regimen-ensure, metamucil every day

Ask MD re: Meds: Always talk to your prescriber about discontinuing a med. This med has no specific prohibitions against quick cessation. You should talk about why u hate it, the reasons (side-effects) could possibly be addressed. Sounds like your doc thinks you are not getting enough nutrition either. If you don't understand the regimen -ask questions-. You need to be a partner ion your treatment.

Generally Yes: Wellbutrin (bupropion) usually has no withdrawal, even at high doses. To be on the safe side you can go down on the xr from 300 to 150, wait 4 days then stop. On the ir you can go from 200 to 100 for 4 days then stop.
Metamucil does not help weight loss. Many diets that are high protein require fiber supplementation.
