6 weeks minimum: Recovery following surgical treatment of a finger fracture is variable, but bony healing requires 4-6 weeks at the minimum. Depending upon the type of fracture and type of surgery (pinning vs. Plating), you may require extensive hand therapy to regain range of motion and strength. Total recovery time and return to normal activities could be as long as 16 weeks or more.
