Slow titration: I would continue to titrate down as you have, just more slowly. If you are at 1 per day stay there for 5-7 days then go to 1/2 per day for 5-7 days.

Controlling pain: Using music, deep breathing, light activity (walking, swimming, dancing), reading, massage, and meditation/prayer can add to your ability to control your pain, even while decreasing pain medications. Practice a little more each day and you can become an expert on controlling your own pain. Talk to your doctor and consider visiting a pain clinic to help get you started.
