A member asked:

If 50mg spironolactone improved adult acne somewhat, would a dosage increase help further? i'm still battling acne on jawline and chin. depressing!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Spironolactone acne: Spironolactone is a good medication for hormonal acne, which is usually the kind that women past age 35 get. Hormonal acne is more likely to be on the lower face and jawline. Increasing the dose may be helpful. Also, talk to your dermatologist about adding some topicals that may help and avoid dairy products and high sugar carbs which can make acne worse, as can heavy moisturizers.
