Yes: The test is call calcium score screening heart scan. Used to detect calcium in the atherosclerotic plague at the coronary arteries. The amount of coronary calcium is an independent predictor of future heart problems and can be use to start lifestyle changes. If you have a positive scan then stress test is the next step. If negative and a positive scan, i still recommend lifestyle changes.

The coronary calcium score is done without iodine contrast and identifies coronary vascular calcifications – which correlate with coronary atherosclerotic disease. The cardiac cta is done with iodine contrast and identifies the coronary vessel lumen allowing more accurate vascular delineation. Your dr. Can advise which is most appropriate for you.
