Mild cad. no mi , my lvef measurements since 2011 are 60, 58, 55, 50, 49. cardiologist called it mildly reduced. whats most accurate way heart cath, 2d echo, 3d echo, cardiac mri, muga scan? is reduced cardiac funct. means cardiomyopathy ? thank you.

EF: You appear to have had a lot of testing but provide limited history. The numbers alone don't tell much as their test associations and other factors make them not necessarily very different. You should see a cardiologist and get your questions answered from a Doc with specific information about you.

Measuring EF.: The MUGA scan is considered a very accurate measurement of the ejection fraction. The 2D echo is helpful in deducing if valve issues are involved in the decrement of the EF.
