Us says i have a 8 mm solid hypoechoic thyroid nodule with scattered, small cervical nonspecific lymph nodes. what chance is it malignant & it spread?

Unlikely: Usually thyroid cancers are larger but it is still possible this could be malignant. I would suggest correlation with nuclear medicine scan. Thyroid cancers are cold nodules usually. You need to be carefully followed by a doctor for this.

Low risk: Thyroid nodules are very common. The risk of cancer is only 5%. The option now is to proceed wwith an ultrasound guided biopsy or to follow this closely with another ultrasound in a year and biopsy it if it grows on the subsequent ultrasound.
