Optimize hypothyroid: These are 2 different conditions. Optimal treatment of your under-active thyroid will likely improve many of your fibromyalgia like symptoms. Fibromyalgia unresponsive to one medication alone usually responds better to combination medication, along with exercise, pt, improving your diet and incorporating other alternative modalities.

It depends: No one med works well for everyone. Be sure you have exhausted all of the traditional therapies before turning to narcotic pain meds.

It depends : Most of the fibro meds don't work at all or as well if you don't get proper sleep, exercise, stop smoking. Nicotine and narcotics can block the actions of most fibro meds.
