Wait: I would wait 3 days or so to let the antibiotic start taking effect and to let your daughter recover a little. Why send her right back when she may infect others and feel terrible.

Depends: If she was diagnosed with strep tonsillitis she will not be contagious after 24 hrs on medication. If it is not strep, she is considered contagious as long as she has fever. If she feels poorly and will not be able to gain much from the school experience, she should convalesce at home until she feels up to it. Tonsils may remain swollen long after the infection has subsided.
