Yes: An unstable weber b fracture of the ankle is by definition prone to displacing ing in a cast by its very nature. If casting is elected as the treatment (vs. Surgery) it requires frequent xrays and possible cast changes to maintain the alignment . If it moves may require closed reduction or surgery.
