Should i be afraid to start methotrexate for my ra? i can't fully close my right hand. i don't want to lose my hair. i was diagnosed 5 months ago.

No: Methotrexate, if felt to be the most efficacious therapy by a competent rheumatologist who will follow you carefully for side-effects and complications should be a reasonable choice. This should be done with some degree of caution and there are other treatments for ra. See rheumatologiist. Hope you feel better soon.

Trust your DR.: Most people don't experience the full side effects of the drug. Once your symptoms improve perhaps your dr can lower the dose. Read our website's tips on ra. Bless u:).
