Rheumatoid arthritis leads to chronic inflammation and this can lead to weight changes, including weight loss. The prednisone tends to lead to weight gain as a side effect so this may help. You could also see a nutritionist to be sure you are eating the right diet to keep inflammation down while taking in enough calories to allow for weight gain. Best of luck to you!
