Not always: As a pathologist, i trained under some of the most distinguished physicians of the era. Even the greats would not sign out any but the most straightforward cancer diagnoses without a second pathologist. There are a host of "foolers" and if a consult is requested, be glad that several pathologists are taking a look -- you may ask for an additional pathologist or two of your choosing.

Chill: It just means that the pathologist is being responsible and wants to make sure your diagnosis is correct, be it benign or malignant. Some situations can be tricky and it never hurts to have an extra set of eyes take a look at it. Hope it is ok for you.
