See MD and DDS: Persistent TMJ pain and migraines should be evaluated by a qualified dentist and physician respectively. You should not rely on otc medications for prevention and relief. Seek professional advice first! there are some excellent health care professionals out there who can help. It's just a matter of finding them. Don't give up easily. Feel better.

Seek a TMJ Eval: Tmj problems are frequently confused with migraine headaches. Tmj headaches tend to be from the sides of the head (in a vise feeling). Otc mouth guards are not very good at helping. Custom TMJ splints work wonders in the right hands. Additional symptoms you may be experiencing include: full feeling ears, ringing ears, bite doesn't feel right, and/or popping or clicking in the joint. Good luck.
