Xelox: Oral Capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (xelox) is an alternative to continuous infusion 5fu (fluorouracil) plus leucovorin and oxaliplatin (folfox). It substitutes the 48 hr infusion of 5fu (fluorouracil) for 14 days of Capecitabine pills. You still need to get oxaliplatin IV and it is significantly more expensive. Both have pros and cons that your oncologist can discuss with you.

Every medication: Or treatment has benefits and risks. Your oncologist has recommended this course of treatment based upon his extensive knowledge, education, and experience, and determined that this is the best course alternative. It is not a simple decision to recommend a course of treatment of a malignancy. If you have any doubts, you can always get a second opinion, but it sounds right to me.
