X-ray?: Could be many things. Best to see your primary doctor or an orthopedic surgeon for a careful medical history, physical exam and diagnositic exams as sugested by the workup. Especially important if it is new.

Get imaging: This could be something serious and you should go see your pcp for a referral of a specialist. You will need to get imaging and labs because of the size and appearance. Not sure what it is and may be irresponsible to speculate and cause fear. Please see your physician.
