Everytime i eat i get upper chest pain..i do have a small hernia...is that causing the chest pain.

Hernia: Wow. Sorry, if you are having chest pain each time you eat you really need to see your doctor. It is possible that this be a hiatal hernia of your stomach into your chest cavity. But it can also be cardiac. You need a good history and physical. Don't keep suffering in silence. It is most likely treatable

Unlikely: Large hiatal hernias would be likely to cause this. These are also known as paraesophageal hernias. Small hiatal hernias are usually not of much consequence, but could get larger over the years. Also, spasm of the esophagus could cause the pain. This is diagnosed with manometry where a small tube goes through the nose and into the stomach.
