Yes: Gabapentin is one of the medications that works best to treat neuropathy - but the effects are shortlived- unless taken daily - unless you are having side effects, you probably would benefit with continuing the current dose/prescription.

Yes: Speak with the doctor who prescribed it but generally the pain will return if the med is stopped.
