Related ?: With exceptions, bleeding that is red and not part of the stool suggests something lower like hemorrhoids or a tear in the anal lining. Bleeding up high like from the stomach has to pass through the intestines and so is usually mixed in with the stool and black. It may be tarry due to digestion. You need to see a doctor who should evaluate your bottom as this is more likely the cause.
