Varies widely : Judging from your previous questions today it appears that you have not yet had your baby. It also appears that you are very concerned about vaginal lacerations. I would discuss these fears with your obgyn. Discuss your options for anxiety and pain control. Together you can work out a plan to help make having a baby an enjoyable experience.

Depends: It depends on how severe the "tearing" is. Having done it twice, i can say it's not too awful, and surprisingly that area heals very quickly! you will likely get a squirt bottle at hospital (like the one dish soap comes in but smaller). You will use this to squirt water on yourself whenever you use bathroom. This keeps it from hurting, and from getting infected.
