Of course: That is one of the main reasons i induce my patients, in order to give them a better chance for a vaginal delivery before the baby gets too large or has other problems, induction does not assure a vaginal delivery, just like spontaneous labor does not assure a vaginal delivery, nature does not always work right! so if your doctor thinks you need a c-section, please listen to him or her.

Yes: The goal of inducing labor is to stimulate contractions prior to the onset of spontaneous labor. Reasons for induction vary widely. The goal for every labor induction is a vaginal delivery.
