Steroids: Any oral or inhaled steroids could possibly cause an increase in eye pressure. There is no connection between the medications mentioned and macular degeneration either wet or dry.

No: Advir and spieva will have no affect on macular degeneration. If you have had cataract surgery , you don't need to worry about cataracts. Increased intraocular pressure can occur with steroid use. Obtaining a baseline pressure 2 months after continuous use is advised.

Not likely: Advair contains a steroid, which as a category can cause cataracts - but that's no reason to not take the medicine. One cataracts have been removed, they will not recur. Spiriva contains a class of agents (anti-chilinergic) which can create a rare certain type of angle-closure glaucoma -- this is a rare conditions and can be treated with laser or cataract surgery.

Spiriva Glaucoma: There is 1 case report of Tiotropium (ingredient) causing acute angle closure glaucoma. If you have narrow angles of eye, let PCP know. Otherwise rare risk of cataract. No case reports of macular degeneration. More info at: eyedoc2020 blogspot com
