Expert opinion - should my narrow angle glaucoma improve if i have cataract surgery?

Yes: Narrow angles are typically seen in short eyes (front to back). Removing the lens will result in more room. Usually you would try a laser peripheral iridectomy first to buy time so you won't need cataract surgery right away. However, every eye is different and in your case, a laser may not be an option.

Angle closure gla: Cataract surgery would reduce the narrowing of the angles and virtually eliminate the chances of new acute angle closure (the angle closing and causing a severe pressure rise with severe damage). Unfortunately, whatever damage was previously done with chronic angle closure is permanent and you may need to continue treatments for pressure control. Seek the advice of your ophthalmologist.
