How's your iron?: Iron deficiency anemia - and low iron stores - can be related to hair loss. A ferritin level is frequently drawn (blood test) to help sort this out. Low iron is especially likely if you are having heavy menstrual flow. Two cautions: 1) there are other reasons to be anemic - like bleeding from the bowel, 2) don't "freelance" with iron - you can overdo it. See your doctor. Good luck. Lgromko md.

Complicated: Hair loss can be complicated to diagnosis certain blood tests are helpful but history is critical with regard to medications , diet , stress and other (hormonal) conditions that could play a role. Recommend a dermatological evaluation.

Low thyroid: Is your TSH is 2.63 i suggest asking your doctor to check your free T3 and free T4 levels as well. If you're on thyroid therapy the goal is to keep your TSH below 2 so your synthroid (thyroxine) dose might not be adequate and needs adjustment.
