Why is it important to avoid prolong sun exposure when on methotrexate? how long is to long in the sun while on it?

Radiosensitizer: Methotrexate like some other chemo drugs are radiosensitizers so it can lead to a worse sunburn. Have a well brimmed hat and sun screen on. No direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Hope this helps.
