A member asked:

While taking methotrexate is there any foods i should avoid, for example grapefruit?

Caffeine: Drinking more than 4 cups of coffee a day can reduce the efficacy of methotrexate. Hope that helps.

Also, milk rich food: If you take oral Methotrexate (tablets) along with milk or milk-rich foods, it may decrease absorption. This is not toxic but may result in getting a lower dose than you need to keep your disease under control. This can be avoided by taking injections under the skin of Methotrexate which are not painful and you can guarantee 100% absorption. As you probably know, always avoid any alcohol.
