Difficult Q: You are very young (age 28) to have had a blood clot in your lung (pulmonary embolism) and be taking coumadin (warfarin). I'm sure you are followed by a hematologist or internist...Start with them for an answer to your question. Any answer in this forum would be a "guess" without knowing your medical history and a physical examination.

Can be veins: Patients have venous insufficiency or reflux, an inherited problem allowing backward flow of blood or pooling of blood in the legs with sitting and standing and don't have to have varicose veins on the skin to have this disease.
