Could be: This could be a torn meniscus which usually causes pain as well. Other possibilities include ligament damage, misalignment of the knee or buildup of extra tissue around or in between the joint. An orthopedic surgeon would be best to evaluate and advise you. An mri may be ordered as part of the evaluation.
