Various: Pcos is associated with weight gain, irregular periods, infertility, excess body/facial hair growth, scalp hair loss. It is usually caused by Insulin resistance, which leads to diabetes, hypertension, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, gout. You need to maintain a low carb/low starch diet, do regular exercise. You may benefit by being on metformin to treat Insulin resistance.

The only symptom: Used to diagnose pcos is irregular (skipped or absent) periods. Many other symptoms go with pcos but none are used correctly to make a diagnosis. The remainder o the is made on elevated androgens in blood and a polycystic 'look' to ovaries on us.
