Not really a medical: Only thing that i can find evidence is fluids and electrolytes before during and after exercise. What you eat depends on your goals, for example if your goal is weight loss, then taking energy drinks before exercise can be bad. Carbs are instant energy so carbdite before exercise to maximize training. Protein diet is essential to repair your injuries and build muscle so after exercise.
