Mechanical knee: Mechanical knee symptoms with effusion is a meniscal tear until proven otherwise .See orthopedist for exam whil ice will reduce unflammation it wont fix the non smooth gliding surface.

I have had xrays on my left knee to see what is wrong with it due to it being swollen and hurting back in July. I was diagnosed with have patella in both knees. After physical therapy, my swelling went down - but now its back when I am moving a lot. It doesnt hurt but there is a lot of fluid on the knee and it seems to go away when I work out. But swells when Im doing daily activities: walking, etc. wondering if I need to go back to the doctor or continue PT exercises Swollen Left Knee?
Previous patella fracture in 2006 tha required orif. fell recently on same knee. immediate swelling pain and decreased rom noted. Will Ice and brace and rest with elevation of extremity be sufficient for 1st week?
