Previous patella fracture in 2006 tha required orif. fell recently on same knee. immediate swelling pain and decreased rom noted. will ice and brace and rest with elevation of extremity be sufficient for 1st week?

For a few days: In view of your history, if this does not stabilize quickly, would contact orthopedic surgeon, get imaging, and perhaps engage in conservative therapies such as physical therapy. Please consider that the newer injury may involve different areas of the knee, different from the original fracture.
