Yes: All it takes is one actual "manic episode" to qualify for a diagnosis of bipolar dis. 1week of clearly euphoric, elevated and or irritable mood, some assoc symptoms, like sleeplessness, hypersexuality, over spending are common.

YES: That sounds quite possible, but do have an expert make the diagnosis and treat the condition. There is hope for a more comfortable life.

Yes : Technically only one episode of mania or hypo mania is need for a diagnosis. Despite this reality is that most common symptom of bipolar disorder is depression.

Agree with earlier: responses. One manic or hypomanic episode is all that is required to make diagnosis of bipolar spectrum disorder.
