A member asked:

Why do the front of my finger have a thick layer of skin and no lines going across it like the rest of my fingers it's not normal it's embarrassing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fingerprints: Several conditions can result in disappearance of fingerprints temporarily or permanently: scars, calluses/corns from repeated pressure or friction to the area and warts, which are viral infections. Please see your dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment. If this is a wart, it is contagious and can spread to other parts of your skin and to other people.
