What medication: Some miscellaneous medication increase Dopamine also when taking ssri once your depression improved your mood is better you feel happy and pleasure in things.

WAY oversimplified: SSRIs increase serotonin (5-HT) neurotransmission. But 5-HT INHIBITS mesolimbic dopaminergic (DA) activity. Since DA is important in motivation & reward, this may actually WEAKEN the clinical response to SSRIs. Furthermore, there are 7 families of 5-HT receptors each with multiple subtypes, & 5 families of brain DA receptors also each with multiple subtypes. Nothing about neurochemistry is simple.
