It's about confidence: Anxiety is another word for fear. When we are in control of the situation it reduces fear. When we feel we are in control of ourselves we feel better and better about everything. We worry less. Dopamine stimulants help focus and the reward we get from things. Which make us feel better. It is also the reason these meds. can be habit forming. If main problem ADHD stimulants decrease anxiety best.

The pill: and the neurotransmitters it effects and the correlation to therapy has been generally inexact and not predictable. BUT concerta.. an amphetamine... will specifically have a paradoxical calming effect in people with ADHD. This is due to its effects on stress hormones and not due to dopamine.

Actual issues vastly: more complex than any of the drugs or single neurotransmitters such as dopamine. The actual issues are vastly complex mind/mental issues encoded & represented within fantastically complex brain neural circuits. Current understanding/neurotransmitter theories are a crude/superficial view of what is happening. Study Ramachandran's work for a bit better understanding & pay attention to what works.
