Protein and energy: Wound healing is a complicated process that requires many factors including building blocks (proteins) and fuel (fats and carbohydrates) as well as cofactors (vitamins and minerals). Immunity is based on other cells but require almost the same basic components but put together. These are interrelated and work together always. Poor nutrition means poor healing and poor immune responses.

Proteins important. : A diet that is poor in protein could decrease both immunity (immune globulins made from protein) and wound healing (collagen is a protein important to building new tissue).
